Methylcobalamin protects the brain from damage caused by glutamate
Glutamates are substances that are present in food additives such as MSG and artificial sweeteners as well as occurring “naturally” during food processing or darkening of the flesh. Glutamates have led to toxic damage of the brain and nervous system and have been implicated in problems as diverse as Parkinson’s disease, the attention deficit disorder and autism. Glutamate damage can be severe and long lasting, but have been largely ignored in Western medicine. However, several studies have shown that a form of vitamin B12 called methylcobalamin may be able to protect the brain against damage caused by these glutamates.
The ingestion of aspartame artificial sweeteners, food additives such as MSG or meat that has been “golden” means that the ingestion of a neurotoxin called glutamate. Glutamate, which are in a class of harmful substances called “Excitotoxins’ have been around for decades as artificial flavors. Especially well known is monosodium glutamate, also known as MSG, which has been implicated as the culprit of “Chinese restaurant syndrome,” where sensitive people get a severe headache and fatigue after a meal containing MSG. Those who get Chinese restaurant syndrome are the lucky ones as they are very aware when exposed to glutamate and its backlash taught to stay away from these toxic substances. The rest of us are not as fortunate and may be conscious or unconscious eating or drinking these nerves and brain-damaging substances, without thinking that there is a problem until it is a big problem. Nerve problems and diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease may be the result of these neurotoxins approved by the FDA designed to “improve” and “sweeten” foods and beverages. Brain cancer is a cancer very difficult. It is usually difficult to detect and not found until some form of motor skills are affected. These tumors have the ability to grow quickly and spread in an aggressive manner, which is known as metastasis. Growing out of control and eliminate normal healthy cells with devastating effects. Brain tumors are difficult mainly due to brain tissues that are around. Other types of cancer are much easier to remove and can be accessed much easier to go through your skull and operate throughout the brain tissue (which can be easily damaged by the procedure). The data show that the incidence of brain cancer due to metastasis is about 25% of all brain cancers.
Some symptoms may be indicative of brain cancer. They are chronic headaches, weakness, difficulty walking, seizures, slurred actions, reduced memory or concentration, nausea and vomiting, impaired vision, slurred speech and other motor skill difficulties. Brain Cancer Treatment is usually specific to each individual. The doctor will take into account the age and general health status of the patient, along with the size, type and location of the tumor. Brain Cancer Treatment involves consultation with various specialists such as neurosurgeons, oncologists, radiologists, dieticians and physiotherapists, as well as the family doctor.
